Save the Date!

Save the date!

Just yesterday I met with the House Federalism Committee chairman, Representative John Becker (R-Union Township), at his office in Columbus.

Representative Becker confirmed to me that House Bill 178, our Constitutional Carry bill, will be heard for Proponent Testimony (only people in FAVOR of it get to testify) on May 1st at 9:00am at the Statehouse!

Constitutional Carry is powered by only one political entity in this state, and that is YOU, the law-abiding gun owners of Ohio!

Site, I hope you can show up at our Statehouse and testify in favor of this wonderful legislation.

Again, it is going to be held on Wednesday, May 1st at 9:00am in room 113 at the Statehouse.

If you are able to attend, I’d love to personally meet you and see you there.

If you can attend and would like to testify in favor of the bill, there are a couple of things you need to know.

• First, you’ll need to write up a short testimony of support for Constitutional Carry.

You can get as detailed as you like, or you can simply voice your support as a law-abiding, free American who wants them to pass the bill!

• Second, you must submit your written testimony to the committee beforehand.

This is required so that the committee members can peruse your comments, but also so that it can be entered into the House Journal for all time. Personally, I like the idea of that because thirty years from now my grandkids will be able to look it up and see some of what their grandpa did to stand up for the Second Amendment!

Your testimony will need to be submitted by 9:00am on April 30th.

If you miss the deadline by a little bit, still give it a try.

Also, if you are unable to attend but would still like to submit written testimony for entry into the official record, that’s great!

Please indicate in your email that you are submitting testimony for entry into the official record.

All testimony should be submitted to the House Federalism Committee chairman’s aide, Joe Michalowski, at [email protected].

(For a model format, please scroll down below the P.S.)

As you know, Constitutional Carry simply makes getting a license to exercise your right to carry a concealed weapon optional here in Ohio.

Constitutional Carry has already passed in our neighboring states of Kentucky and West Virginia, bringing the total of Constitutional Carry states to a whopping sixteen!

But passing Constitutional Carry won’t be easy.

In fact, Bloomberg’s paid front group – Moms Demand Action – is already chomping at the bit to get in front of the Federalism Committee to testify against it to try to kill it.

That’s why I’m asking you to take some of your valuable time and attend the May 1st Proponent Testimony Hearing on Constitutional Carry.

This committee needs to see that Ohio’s best citizens, law abiding gun owners like you, are behind this legislation 100%.

If you are unable to attend, please consider chipping in a contribution to help us mount pressure for a full floor vote in the weeks to come.

Thank you for standing with us in this fight!

For Ohio,

Chris Dorr
Executive Director
Ohio Gun Owners
