It’s time to burn down their phone lines.
If you’ve been reading our recent emails, you know that Ohio Gun Owners has been working with legislators to bring forward the Ohio Constitutional Carry Act of 2017.
Now I’m happy to report that the drafting process is complete, and that Constitutional Carry is ready for co-sponsorship! More on that in a second.
But first, Constitutional Carry is on the move all across the country. Already law in 12 states, it simply gets government out of the “rights regulation” business, as our Founding Fathers intended.
In short, when this law passes, if you’re legal to own a gun, you’re legal to carry one.
No more having to put your name in a government database.
No more paying a tax to exercise your constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
No more being treated like a second-class citizen because you take your responsibility to protect your family seriously.
Constitutional Carry removes all of that by simply making the permit process in Ohio optional.
Still want to keep or get one for reciprocity purposes? Under Constitutional Carry you’ll still be able to do that!
Whenever major restorations of gun rights are on the table, anti-gunners scream about how there will be “blood in the streets” or an increase in “vigilante justice” and accidental shootings.
But with nearly a quarter of America already enjoying Constitutional Carry, you and I both know that isn’t true.
In fact, the state of Vermont, which has NEVER regulated the 2nd Amendment, statistically has the lowest crime rates in the country, year after year!
With pro-gun reforms on the move all across the country, it’s time Ohio catch up and pass this important legislation!
Thankfully, pro-gun legislators Representative Ron Hood and Tom Brinkman have introduced this bill for us, which means it’s available for cosponsors right now.
The bill won’t be assigned a bill number until the cosponsor’s names are added, but the bill is ready for additional signatures!
That’s why I hope you’ll stop what you’re doing and immediately contact your state representative and urge him/her to cosponsor this bill right away!

With the largest pro-gun majorities in Ohio history, and with Constitutional Carry on the move throughout the country, 2017 is the year to make it happen.
Please do your part by cosponsoring the Ohio Constitutional Carry Act (Draft # L_132_0035-1) by Representatives Hood and Brinkman right away!
The Ohio General Assembly generally meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and today they’re scheduled for a full day of committees and floor session, so it’s a great chance for you to connect with them or their staff.

Gun owners in Ohio sent a loud, clear message in November when they kicked Hillary Clinton to the curb and elected the largest pro-gun legislative majorities in Ohio history.
But this work will be for nothing if we don’t maintain the pressure on the politicians and make sure they move this legislation!
