Current Ohio House Speaker, Jason Stephens, has decided NOT to run for reelection as Speaker. This is good news, because Stephens was the one who sent HB51 to the Rules Committee back in December of 2023, after promising to call the vote on it, and shut the door on it ever since.
Now there are only two candidates vying for Speaker in the 136th General Assembly: pro-gun Tim Barhorst and current Senate President and incoming State Representative, moderate Matt Huffman.
Tim Barhorst went on the record signing his OGO candidate questionnaire 100% in favor of our gun rights (and fully supports SAPA), while Matt Huffman refused. Worse, as Senate President, Huffman has only done the bare minimum for gun owners!
Gun owners need a Speaker of the House who understands the issues gun owners face and that will go on OFFENSE for our gun rights! So, please take action right away by sending a quick, pre-written email to your State Representative urging them to cast their vote for Tim Barhorst as Speaker of the Ohio House!
