As gun owners here in Ohio know, we have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season.
So while the battle for our Second Amendment freedoms continues in the current “Lame Duck Session,” we’d like to make special mention of a few things we’re thankful for!
Some of the highlights so far this year include:
>>> Defending the pro-gun champions we have in our legislature from being unseated by Bloomberg’s attacks, Representatives like Nino Vitale, Ron Hood, Candice Keller and Tom Brinkman;
>>> Bringing Stand-Your-Ground law to the forefront of Ohio politics, even though it isn’t currently as strong as it should be;
>>> Blocking and stopping turncoat Governor John Kasich’s gun-control omnibus bill (HB585, SB288), which includes Red Flags gun-confiscation legislation!
On a personal note, I’m thankful for the team we have here at Ohio Gun Owners who have the privilege of fighting on your behalf, especially during the election season where we get to hold anti-gunners accountable for their actions!
But mostly, we’re just thankful for you, the grassroots base spread all across our state that forms the backbone of Ohio Gun Owners.
This isn’t some out-of-state run gun lobby that flies into Columbus once in a while, cuts a deal and then leaves again. We live here and raise our families here, just like all of you.
This organization was founded in Ohio, it’s run by Ohioans and it’s funded by Ohioans just like you.
Every time we’ve asked you to call or email the legislature to support or oppose legislation, you rose to the call.
When we asked you to rally at the Statehouse, you showed up by the hundreds.
And when we set about to run the largest and most expensive election program in our history this year, you guys funded that program 100%, giving us the ammo we needed to fight back!
This consistent support has allowed Ohio Gun Owners to become the most effective gun rights organizations in the state!
As we face down the remainder of Ohio’s Lame Duck Session, we have a lot of work still to be done, but we stand ready and willing to do it because you make it all possible.
To be crystal clear, the victories and successes we’ve already had this year are YOUR victories and successes, so thank you for standing alongside of us so far in 2018.
You are fantastic, and we look forward to continue fighting for you, both next week when the politicians come back into session and again when the legislature convenes the 133rd General Assembly next January.
