If you had told me just a couple of weeks ago that Ohio’s State Legislature would be just days from coming back for the 2018 session, and I’d be rushing to write you this email, I never would have believed it.
After mass shootings in Las Vegas, Nevada and Sutherland Springs, Texas, gun-grabbers are more emboldened than ever.
Sensing the national political winds are blowing their way, BILLIONAIRE gun-grabbers like George Soros and Michael Bloomberg are going to unload their campaign war chests in Ohio in 2018.
Their goal is to seize control of our Governor’s Mansion and pick up as many seats as possible in the Ohio General Assembly in hopes of building momentum for their 2020 plans to DEFEAT President Trump.
Even with the stakes higher than ever, I’m worried stiff that Ohio Gun Owners’ plans for 2018 won’t be able to get off the ground!
So I need your advice.
As you’ll see below, I’ve included a critical Member Ballot link with this email.
Can I count on you to please click, fill it out and submit it to me IMMEDIATELY?
With so much on our plates, I need you to tell me where to focus.
Even after the historic results of the 2016 elections, the pro-gun majorities in Columbus have yet to deliver Second Amendment supporters anything of note.
As far as I’m concerned, Second Amendment supporters delivered for them with big majorities in BOTH houses of the General Assembly.
If they want to keep those majorities, they better deliver for us with a true pro-gun reform!
That’s why I put passing Stand-Your-Ground at the very top of Ohio Gun Owners’ legislative agenda for 2018 . . .
The Ohio Stand-Your-Ground Bill would simply state that law-abiding Ohio gun owners can defend themselves against attackers without fear of legal backlash from an anti-gun prosecutor or judge.
Under Stand-Your-Ground, law-abiding gun owners would:
1) No longer face a so-called “duty to retreat.”
In a situation where your life is on the line, the LAST thing you want to be thinking about is whether you’ve retreated far enough to satisfy some anti-gun judge or prosecutor;
2) Receive criminal immunity from anti-gun prosecutors.
In other words, no more anti-gun prosecutors trying to make an example of you — or taking a case to court to make a political statement;
3) Receive civil immunity.
That means the money-grubbing family of some thug you had to defend yourself against can’t come after you in court and sue you for millions.
4) Have the burden of proof put on the prosecution to disprove a self-defense claim.
As it stands today, 49 states in the country require prosecutors to disprove a self-defense claim in order to convict a law-abiding gun owner for standing up against criminal attack.
But in Ohio, the burden of proof rests on YOU to prove you acted reasonably!
That’s why many experts say Ohio has the WORST self-defense law in the country!
That’s exactly how gun-grabbers want it.
After all, whenever some thug commits some horrific crime, don’t the gun-grabbers always rush to place blame — not on the criminals themselves — but on law-abiding gun owners?
I don’t know about you, but I believe the law should put the interests of law-abiding Ohio citizens ahead of thugs and madmen.
Today, with the threat from madmen and ISIS-inspired terrorist wannabees increasing, Stand-Your-Ground has never been more important.
After all, do we really want law-abiding gun owners to be worried about what an anti-gun prosecutor or judge might think in a situation where dozens of lives are on the line?
But before you do, just consider the opportunity we have with Constitutional Carry.
If passed, Constitutional Carry would restore the right of Ohio citizens to carry a firearm to protect themselves and their families –- WITHOUT going through a bunch of bureaucratic rigmarole or paying expensive fees.
If you’re legal to own it, you’re legal to carry it. PERIOD.
The truth is, all of the stipulations, regulations, conditions and requirements anti-gun legislators have put on the books that you and I must fulfill — BEFORE we can exercise our God-given right to keep and bear arms — do absolutely nothing to stop criminals.
They don’t ask anyone for permission to carry a gun they may well decide to use against YOU.
So isn’t it high-time the Ohio State Government stopped standing in the way of law-abiding citizens carrying firearms — just like so many other states around the country?
Just in the past few years, Constitutional Carry has passed in Kansas, Maine, Idaho, West Virginia, Mississippi, Missouri and New Hampshire.
In Maine, it passed with a Democrat State House. In Missouri and West Virginia, it passed with a Democrat Governor.
So there’s no reason why Constitutional Carry can’t soon be reality here.
Thanks to your support, Constitutional Carry started to gain some serious traction in the General Assembly last year and looked poised for passage through the House Federalism Committee before losing steam at the last second because a few legislators got cold feet.
In 2018, it’s time to put those legislators’ feet to the fire by insisting on a public, roll-call vote.
The good news is, just forcing a vote puts you and me in a win/win situation.
Either we get the votes to pass Constitutional Carry — or gun-grabbers will be setting themselves up for a massive defeat in 2018 — just like we saw in 2014 and 2016!
But before you make your choice (as if you could), don’t forget that 2018 is a critical election year as well.
BOTH houses of our General Assembly and our Governor’s Mansion are up for grabs.
Sadly, we already got a piece of bad news when the leading pro-Second Amendment Governor candidate John Husted (R) decided he wasn’t running and folded his campaign into Mike DeWine’s.
As you may remember, as a U.S. Congressman and Senator, DeWine was anything but a reliable vote for gun owners, even voting for the Brady Background Check scheme and AGAINST making it illegal to sue gun manufacturers for crimes committed with their guns.
In fact, he was even endorsed by the Brady gun control organization in 2006.
If DeWine is elected Governor, all this is bad news for pro-gun reforms and could even pave the way for gun control.
While BILLIONAIRE gun-grabber Michael Bloomberg certainly loves to elect anti-gun Democrats whenever possible, his favorite scenario is ensuring he has someone he can “work with” in office regardless of which party wins in November.
That’s why Ohio Gun Owners is surveying ALL candidates for Governor, State House and Senator and asking them tough questions on Constitutional Carry, Stand-Your-Ground and top Bloomberg priorities like so-called “Universal Background Checks” (STATEWIDE GUN REGISTRATION) and so-called “Assault Weapons Bans.”
As critical primary and General Elections approach, I’ll report back to you the results so all Ohio Second Amendment supporters know exactly where their candidates stand.
This is the gun-grabbers’ worst nightmare.
In a state like Ohio, virtually all candidates at least mouth support for the Second Amendment, knowing that’s the only way to get elected.
But with your help, we’ll be there with hard-hitting U.S. Mail, email, social media and even Internet, radio and newspaper ads if we can raise the resources to ensure Ohioans know the truth about their candidates’ records.
But with gun-grabbers like Michael Bloomberg and George Soros salivating over Ohio due to our status as a presidential battleground state, I have to be prepared to do more than ever before.
That’s not going to be cheap. But my stomach churns at the alternative . . .
I’m sure you can see why I’m so torn.
There just aren’t any easy options.
The truth is, I’d rather bite the head off a snake than be forced to hold back on either of these fights with the gun-grabbers!
But I have to face facts.
As it stands today, I just don’t have the resources for everything on our plates.
That’s why I’m counting on you to tell me where to focus.

Of course, when you do so, you’ll notice I’ve included one more option that I haven’t yet mentioned.
That’s “OPTION #4: FIGHT THE GUN-GRABBERS EVERYWHERE! DON’T GIVE AN INCH!”
This is the option I’m hoping you’ll click.
But before you consider making this selection, please understand just how serious this situation is.
Without a massive influx of funds, I won’t be able to run a full campaign in any of the areas I told you about.
Frankly, I can’t even think about running any one of these programs half-hearted.
Bloomberg and his cronies will sniff out our weakness and become even more emboldened to unload millions in their attempt to seize back control of Ohio!
That’s why my hope is you will agree to a generous gift of $100 right away.
I know that’s a lot. I know I’m asking you to stretch.
But Ohio Gun Owners’ members and supporters have never let me down before.
As a result, there’s no organization that politicians in Ohio fear more than Ohio Gun Owners.
But the work you and I have ahead of us in 2018 is some of the most important in our history.
So if $100 is just too much, will you please agree to $50 or at least $25?
With time running out before the General Assembly gets underway for 2018, I simply must hear from you right away.
